I'm lucky enough to live in a city with FREE admission to the art museum. I went there a few weeks ago. I was going to take someone with me, but none of my friends were available. So I went alone. And I enjoyed it! There is just something liberating about doing something alone that most people do in groups. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's being able to spend as much time as I want looking at the blown glass. Maybe it's being able to go back and look at something again without feeling like I'm putting someone out. Maybe it's being able to think whatever I want and not worry about whether it would make sense if I said it out loud to someone. Or maybe I'm just a rebel.
The more things I try out on my own, the more I wonder what else I would like. I've yet to really wander around my city and see the sights (I just moved here recently). In a way, I guess I was waiting for an opportunity to take someone with me. But, like most other things in life, why wait? That's something to remind myself of.
So I'll probably be reporting back once I explore some more. I'm really interested to find out which things are just as entertaining by myself and which things truly would be more of an experience if I have/had someone with me. Hmm. Perhaps I shall do some of them both ways so that I will really know. I'm also curious to find out what other people have experienced and which things they would like to do alone or would rather do with other people.
